Signing up, step by step
- Create a model account. Use the apply button on this page or Stripchat’s model signup page. Stripchat then walks you through its Models Signup Wizard.
- Choose your stage name. Pick something that isn’t your real name and isn’t used on your personal social accounts.
- Verify your identity. Upload both sides of your ID, take the live selfie, and add the photo of you holding your ID with the date and your username written down. Your documents go to Stripchat for verification, not onto your public profile.
- Add payout details. Choose a payout method. Stripchat lists Paxum, Cosmo, Yoursafe, crypto, SEPA, ACH, local wires and Visa, each with its own minimum.
- Set your privacy before your first show. Block countries and regions, decide whether to show your country, and check what’s on your profile (see below).
- Do a test stream. Check light, sound and framing before you go public. There’s no rush.
Safety and privacy
- Geo-blocking. In Stripchat’s Settings and Privacy you can block whole countries and regions from seeing your room. Stripchat notes this can reduce your traffic, so block where it matters most to you, such as where you live or work.
- Your country label. Stripchat takes your country from your ID, but it says you can hide it from your profile.
- A stage name, always. Stripchat advises against putting your real name, phone number or email on your profile. Use a separate email for anything work-related.
- Check your background. Mail, photos, windows and landmarks can give away where you are. Frame your shot with that in mind.
- Your limits are yours. You decide what you do and don’t do, and you can end a show whenever you like.
Equipment basics
Stripchat says a phone is enough to start. If you move to a computer, its guidance suggests:
- Internet: at least 4 Mbps upload, wired if you can.
- Computer: a quad-core processor with 4 GB of RAM as a minimum; one Stripchat article recommends 8 GB.
- Camera: a webcam around the Logitech C920 level.
- Software: Stripchat recommends OBS for streaming from a computer.
- Light: a soft light in front of you does more than an expensive camera.
